July 2024 - The purchase!
We are delighted to announce that The Aurrie now has a big sister/brother ... working title "The Aurrie Mor".
Located just a stone's throw west on Main Street, the former Largo St Davids Church has been bought by the owners of The Aurrie with a view to developing the building; project The Aurrie Mor ( ... as in The Big Aurrie). At this early stage we honestly don't know what the building will, or can be used for. What we do know is that this is a great building, in a great location with a huge potential. With support of the community and the sort of hard work that David and Helen have put into making a success of The Aurrie we are confident we can also develop it into a sustainable business for the community and visitors to Largo.
We'd like to thank the previous owners, Graham and Rachel Bucknall, for enabling a smooth transition of ownership of this amazing building, and we wish them all the best with the continued success of The Crusoe.
Our priorities are to make the building watertight, undertake some essential upgrades, then investigate potential uses and respond to business proposals from any interested parties who could share our vision for this building. We look forward to communicating our plans as they unfold,
Onwards and upwards!
